Configuring a Webshop, authorization concept for WEXM

How can you configure a Webshop?: In the Web Channel Builder you can configure a Web Channel application. An application is built from a set of individual modules, each responsible for a certain part of the webshop. SAP provides several templates that can be used to start with, containing the modules required for a certain business scenario. Nevertheless, you can remove and add any modules you like to your custom application. After configuration of the modules, it can be tested by means of the preview button, and sent for approval to an administrator (person receiving the role settings for webchannel administrator) before it is officially released.

How does the authorization concept work for WEXM?: A consumer can register on the webshop. At that time a record is created for him as a business partner. A reference user has been setup in SU01 and the new business partner inherits all authorizations from this reference user. The consumer can immediately continue on the webshop and place an order and/or complete his personal profile. The reference user can be setup in SU01. In the Web Channel builder, this user is entered in the field ‘Reference User’ of the User module of your application.

Which general functions are available on WEXM?: Consumers can use the following general functions when browsing through the webshop: a) My account: personal details, transactions, preferences b) Simple or advanced search c) Customer interaction: ask questions and express opinions in forums and enter ratings and reviews on products they have bought. d) Live support: start a chat session with an interaction center agent. e) Store Locator: search for stores f) Solution search: knowledge base with information on their products or solutions to their problems. The settings for these general functions can be made in the web channel builder on the corresponding module.
